Why do I weigh the wool? It shows me how much wool I need to complete each F-bomb. Sometimes I don't have enough and have to order more before finishing. I got an email recently from someone who commissioned five F-bombs - so I ordered 12 ounces.
I started shaping the wool with a 36 triangle needle which is used for deep sculpting, then I switched to a 40 spiral needle for fine rapid felting and finally used a 3-needle felting pen to firm it up. The higher the number, the finer the needle, which won't show big holes. Each needle has barbs on the sides around the shaft which plunges the fiber into the center.
I cut out the letter from prefelt.
Prefelt is partially felted wool. The letter was needle felted into the bomb. .
The bomb on the left has the letter needle felted into it.
These don't take much time and are very popular!
I wonder why.........
