I previously have framed my nuno felted wall hangings inside a white or black frame with a mat border. I was going to change out the color of the mat until I found out the cost! It was expensive because it is a custom size. So, I thought, I guess I'll REALLY change it!
From matted frame on the left to canvas wrapped frame on the right
While the felt is glued and drying, I clamp a strip of wood to flatten it while it dries.
I add a half inch square length of wood to the edges on the back of the frame, offsetting them by about 1/2 inch. This gives it dimension.
The back side of a framed piece of art should look as good as the front side.
I like my wall hangings displayed on a canvas wrapped frame!
