The fibers are felting into the silk fabric. At first, I am gently rolling everything. As it felts more, I increase the pressure in rolling. Then I unrolled the whole thing and turned the fabric 90 degrees, rolled up again and rolled another 100 times.
The last step is to place the whole piece in a
vinegar bath. This resets the ph of wool
which is naturally acidic. The vinegar will
neutralize the alkaline traces of soap in
nuno felting projects.
