This is a trumpet shell made of basic core wool and embellished with a technique of rolled fiber that is cut into slices. I've already sold some at the co-op I am a member of so it's great to know it's appreciated!
The light colors are the inside of the shell. I then needle felt the embellishment of darker colors.
Fiber colors can be "painted" on the inside shell by using small wisps of one color on top of another and blending two colors together.
The outer shell embellishment is created by
rolling up different colors of wool and
then slicing them.
The slices are overlapped on the ecru wool
and needle felted to attach.
